Aren't they adorable? These are the stuff of little girls' dreams! Basically, it's a cupcake with strawberry jam and cream inside. Plus, they are delicious!
Start off my making the best cupcakes ever. Then cut the top off, angling the knife so there is a concave hole in your cakelet. Now technically you put a blob of strawberry jam in here. I didn't have any, so I ended up making a strawberry jammy thing out of frozen strawberries from the summer, sugar and some cornstarch. The put a good dollop of whipped cream (the real stuff, sweetened with a bit of sugar). Slice your lid in half, arrange these 'wings' on the top and finish with another dollop of jam.
Now place them in front of your kid and watch the reaction!
